H2O Ministry Pilot – February 2026

In February 2026, following the devastation of Hurricane Melissa, our team traveled to Westmoreland, Jamaica to serve alongside the local church in Kentucky. This trip marked the pilot launch of the His 2nd Wavy Outreach (H2O), a ministry rooted in meeting physical needs while sharing the hope of Jesus Christ.
Through God’s provision and the partnership of supporting organizations, the team was able to join the local church to bring both practical relief and spiritual encouragement to the community.
Serving Through Provision and the Gospel
The Lord opened the door to provide clean, safe drinking water to 40 families and one elementary school during the first distribution of Sawyer PointOne water filters. Care packages filled with food, clothing, and hygiene supplies were also shared with recipient families impacted by the hurricane.
More importantly, each interaction became an opportunity for ministry. During the distribution the Gospel was shared with 28 individuals, and time was intentionally spent praying with families, listening to their stories, and offering encouragement in Christ. This intentional ministry work started during the distribution has been continued during the follow-up visits.

Strengthening the Local Church
A key focus of the mission was equipping the local church to continue the work. Training was provided in:
- Relational evangelism
- Follow-up care and mission mapping
- Proper use of water filters
As relationships grow through the follow-up visits, the church has been connecting more deeply with families in their community. Some who were not previously attending church have since been invited and are beginning to engage.

The Ministry of Presence and Follow-Up
Follow-up visits have been a vital part of this outreach. These visits allowed the local church to:
- Pray repeatedly with families
- Ensure the water filters were functioning properly
- Continue sharing the love of Christ
- Uncovered additional needs of the families
Through these consistent touchpoints, trust has been built and seeds of faith have been planted.
Lessons in Faith and Flexibility
As a pilot program, this mission reminded us that ministry requires both structure and surrender. While certain commitments remained central, their implementation depended on the leading of the Holy Spirit and the guidance of the local church.
Core Essentials of the H2O Model:
- Care packages will be distributed
- The Gospel will be shared and families will be prayed over
- Follow-up visits will take place
- Data collection and mission mapping will be conducted to better serve families, track needs, and support ongoing ministry
We also saw how powerful it is when people experience provision firsthand. As local leaders used the water filters and saw their impact, their excitement for both the physical and spiritual mission grew.
Looking Ahead
The work is not finished. As follow-up visits continue, the local church is preparing for another distribution and ongoing outreach. Additional support will help provide more supplies and expand ministry efforts.
Conclusion
None of this work would have taken place had it not been for the Lord’s provisions we received through the in-kind donation of filters from Sawyer Products and the pilot software from Sparrow Data Solutions, as well as the financial support we received from The Sawyer Foundation grant and other personal donations from others. God’s connections with the General and Jamaican Councils of the Church of God Seventh Day, also allowed for addition on the ground support from those organizations.
This mission was more than a relief effort—it was a demonstration of Christ’s love in action. By meeting both physical and spiritual needs—and by thoughtfully tracking and responding to those needs—this H2O Ministry pilot has begun helping the local church build lasting relationships and opening doors for continued ministry.
We trust that through the Holy Spirit the seeds planted during this time will bear fruit for years to come, as lives are touched not only by clean water, but by the living water found in Jesus Christ.
